The Engine Filter or Air Filter, is an essential component of a vehicle's Engine System. It prevents dirt, debris, and other contaminants from entering the Engine. Over time, the filter can become clogged with dirt and debris, which can reduce airflow and cause a decrease in engine performance. Here are some signs that your engine filter may need replacing:

  • Reduced engine performance : If your engine is not performing as well as it used to, it may be due to a clogged air filter. A clogged filter can restrict airflow to the engine, which can reduce power and acceleration.
  • Poor fuel economy:  A dirty air filter can cause the engine to work harder than it needs to, which can lead to a decrease in fuel efficiency.
  • Check engine light:  A dirty air filter can also trigger the check engine light to come on. This is because a clogged filter can cause the engine to run lean, which can cause a decrease in fuel efficiency and increased emissions.

  • Visible debris on the filter:  If you inspect the air filter and notice that it is visibly dirty, then it is likely time for a replacement. In general, air filters should be replaced every 12,000 to 15,000 miles or as recommended by the manufacturer.

If you notice a decrease in engine performance, poor fuel economy, or the check engine light comes on, it may be time to replace your engine filter. Additionally, it's always a good idea to inspect your filter regularly to make sure it's clean and functioning properly.

If you are driving around Holmes County near Berlin, Millersburg, or Sugarcreek and notice any of these above symptoms your vehicle may be having stop in and we can check out your vehicle's Air Filter.
