Why are my tires wearing unevenly?

There are several reasons tires might not wear evenly. Most common is lack of tire rotation, or changing the position of each tire on the vehicle. It is important to have your tires rotated at least every 10,000 miles to maintain even tread wear. If your vehicle is due for an alignment it can cause excessive wear as well. Over time suspension components wear and this could lead to your wheel alignment being out of specification which will cause uneven or excessive tire wear. Sometimes the worn suspension component can be worn out to the point of being a safety concern. It is important to have your vehicle checked over by a qualified technician at minimum one time per year to ensure the suspension components are all in good working order and the alignment is within specification.
